NYC Ballet

For the fifth installation of the New York City Ballet’s annual Art Series, Finnish artist, Santtu Mustonen was tapped to install a large scale, immersive expression of his work, CROSS POLLINATION, in the lobby of the Koch Theater. Studio Black was retained to provide the technical expertise for this large-scale video installation created from a series of original, digitally altered paintings produced especially for New York City Ballet.

Art Series – Santtu Mustonen

Working closely with the Studio Black team for hardware and technical support services, Hard Work Party provided technical direction and systems programming for this multichannel video, light, and sound installation. This challenging projection design, melted into the surroundings of the ballet’s historic atrium space. This six-week execution realized an ambitious design, conceived by a painter, on a large scale, and delivered on budget.
